Space Survival is a browser space survival elimination order randomizer for sports card breakers. Paste the buyers' names, pick a length, and every name gets a pixel art ship in one asteroid field. The elimination order sets every spot.
How it works
- Paste names, pick a length, press LAUNCH. Every name gets a ship, and every ship starts in the asteroid field.
- Asteroids drift through the field. A hit cracks a ship's shield, later hits damage the hull, and then the ship explodes. Early on ships go fast, a meteor shower at a time on big lists; the last ships go out one by one. The field thins out and the ships grow as it does. STANDINGS on the right shows everyone: the ships still flying, then the elimination order with each place. TRACK pins up to 3 names you want to follow; pinned ships keep their name tag in the field.
- Every name has the same chance at every place. There is no skill and no favourite. Before the first rock flies, the seed shuffles all the names into one elimination order, and the asteroid field only shows it. Shield hits, damage, near misses and explosions are part of the show and never change the order. The length never changes the order either: the same names and seed finish the same way in a 1 minute game and a 5 minute game. The same names, length and seed replay the exact same game.
- The final showdown: when two ships are left, the camera zooms in. They weave through the last rocks until one final asteroid decides it: the ship it hits explodes in 2nd place and the last ship flying wins.
Names, lengths and seeds
- Names: 2 to 500, one per line. A name listed twice gets a number and its own ship, so every ship is told apart.
- Length: 1, 3, 5, 10, 15 or 20 minutes (3 is the default), or a custom time up to 60:00. A length too short for the field is raised to the minimum, and a length longer than the field can fill is capped; the setup screen says why.
- Verified draws and replays: every START gets a draw code from our server, shown with its draw time during the game and on the results. Open the code's link, or enter it with VERIFY / REWATCH, to see when it was drawn and watch the same game again. REPLAY on the results screen plays the same game again.
- STREAM MODE, or ?stream=1 in the address for an OBS browser source, hides the playback controls and the cursor.
- Keyboard: Ctrl or Cmd+Enter starts, Space pauses, 1, 2 and 4 set the speed, F is fullscreen, M turns sound on or off, Esc goes back to setup.
