Plinko Drop
Plinko Drop needs JavaScript. Turn it on to run a draft.
Plinko Drop is a browser plinko team draft randomizer for sports card breakers. Paste the names and your own teams, and name balls drop through a pixel art peg board into the team bins until every team is dealt.
How it works
- Paste NAMES and TEAMS (one per line, any teams you like), pick a length, press START DROP.
- Every team gets one ball. The ball carries the name it was dealt to and lands in that team's bin. MATCHUPS fills in as the balls land.
- Everyone gets the same number of teams, and the seed fairly picks who gets one extra. List a name twice to give it two spots. More names than teams is not allowed.
- The board has 8 bins. With more than 8 teams, your teams come onto the bins in a shuffled order, and claimed bins switch to the next teams when only two are left open. The ball always lands in the bin with its team.
- The first drops get the full show, later drops speed up with several balls at once, and on long lists the last teams land a page of 8 at a time. The length never changes who gets which team.
Fair for every name
Every name has the same chance at every team. Before the first ball drops, the seed deals all the teams out at random. With as many teams as names, everyone gets one team. With more teams, everyone gets the same number, and the seed fairly picks who gets one extra. The board only shows the draft: each ball lands in the bin of the team it was dealt, and the bounces are for show. The teams come onto the board in a shuffled order, and the drop queue shows who drops next, never which team. The same names, teams, length and seed replay the exact same draft, and the length never changes who gets which team.
Names, lengths and seeds
- Names: 2 to 500, one per line. Teams: 2 to 500, one per line, with at least as many teams as names. Duplicate teams are numbered.
- Length: 1, 3, 5, 10, 15 or 20 minutes (3 is the default), or a custom time up to 60:00. A length too short for the team list is raised to the minimum, and a length longer than the list can fill is capped; the setup screen says why.
- Verified draws and replays: When you press START DROP, our server makes a draw code and records the names, settings and time before the draft runs. The code decides the result. No connection, no draft. Watch the whole draft live. The code and its drawn time are on screen; the drawn time should match when the draft started.
- Press VERIFY / REWATCH and enter a code, or open its link, to see when it was drawn and watch the exact same draft again. Replays say REPLAY across the screen and are never a new draw. REPLAY on the results screen plays the same draft again.
- STREAM MODE, or ?stream=1 in the address for an OBS browser source, hides the playback bar and the cursor.
- Keyboard: Ctrl or Cmd+Enter starts, Space pauses, 1, 2 and 4 set the speed, F is fullscreen, M turns sound on or off, Esc goes back to setup.
